| Finally, UIUC's 2026-2027 Academic Calendar has been released, outlining a packed year of learning. The fall semester kicks off on Monday, August 24th, with a break for Labor Day on September 7th. Students can look forward to a week-long fall break beginning November 21st, resuming classes on November 30th. Instruction concludes December 9th, leading into final examinations from December 11th to 17th. The brief winter session follows immediately, starting December 18th, incorporating Christmas and New Year's Day holidays before wrapping up with final exams on January 15th. The spring semester begins swiftly on January 19th, after the Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance on January 18th. Spring Break offers a much-needed pause from March 13th to 22nd. Instruction ends May 5th, with finals running from May 7th to 13th, culminating in Commencement on May 15th. Summer Session 1 commences May 17th, including Memorial Day, and ends by June 12th.
