Sep 9 22-23 Rally at Northwood High School - My First Rally in Sophomore Year | ||

| Alright, folks, gather 'round because I've got a tale to tell about the wildest ride of my high school sophomore year – the rally at Northwood High School on September 9, 2022. "High school is a lot more fun if you treat it like a rally instead of a race." Now, let me set the scene for you. Picture a gymnasium packed to the brim with students buzzing with energy. It was like stepping into a lion's den, but instead of lions, you've got a bunch of rowdy teenagers ready to unleash some serious school spirit. "Energy and persistence conquer all things." - Benjamin Franklin
As I walked in, the air was electric with excitement. Cheerleaders were flipping and tumbling, the band was blaring out tunes that could wake the dead, and I swear I saw a few teachers doing the Macarena in the corner. "The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team." - Phil Jackson But the real showstopper? The pep talk from our principal. Now, I don't know about you, but hearing our principal pump us up like we were about to storm the gates of Troy was equal parts inspiring and hilarious. I mean, who knew Mr. Johnson had such a way with words?
"Believe you can and you're halfway there." - Theodore Roosevelt Of course, no rally would be complete without the obligatory awkward dance-off. Watching my classmates bust out their best moves (or lack thereof) was a sight to behold. Let's just say there were a few future contenders for "Dancing with the Stars" in the mix. "Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room." - Kurt Vonnegut As the rally came to a close and we spilled out into the halls, the energy was still crackling in the air. It may have been just another day at Northwood High, but for me, it was an experience I'll never forget. "The memories we make with our friends are everything." - Candace Bushnell
