As part of the Biden administration's American Investment Initiative, the Department of Energy announced today an investment of approximately $62 million in 20 projects across 15 states to accelerate the research, development, demonstration, and deployment of next-generation clean hydrogen technologies.
This announcement is expected to address the climate crisis while supporting the Biden administration's vision for affordable clean hydrogen energy.
Clean hydrogen is a flexible energy carrier and an essential input in important chemical processes such as fertilizer production and steel manufacturing. The DOE's Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) manages selected projects across five thematic areas.
