School grades

Regardless of the country, a high school graduate or higher education is required, and the minimum GPA and Class Rank are not set. However, it is a fact that the higher the ranking and the more difficult the high school curriculum at school, the higher the competitiveness as an applicant. In addition, you must take a course strategically in high school according to the student's career path to enter the high school as a major you want.

College Entrance Test (SAT/ACT)

Emory University has extended its test-optical policy until the entrance exam in 2025. If you want to submit your score, please refer to the average score of successful applicants over the past few years in the table below.

Oxford College3.76-3.98710-770740-80032-35

English Requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English must meet at least one of the following conditions in order to demonstrate their English proficiency. Those who have attended and graduated from high schools teaching English for the last four years and are expected to graduate will be exempted.

  • TOEFL 100+ (Home Edition recognized)
  • Academic IELTS 7.5 and above
  • Duolingo, 130 points or more
  • SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing 700+
  • ACT English at least 30 points

Financial Aid and Scholarship

Need-based Financial Aid

Unfortunately, Emory University applies the need-aware policy to financial assistance for international students. Therefore, the admission process will take into account the ability of students or parents to pay for their education. You can apply for financial assistance only when you apply as a freshman, and if you are accepted, you cannot apply for financial assistance as an undergraduate student after that.

Emory University Scholars Programs

Emory University is offering partial or full scholarships to first-year students who are selected by applying for the "Emory University Scholar Programs," a grade-based scholarship program. The competition rate is no joke, with 8,000 to as many as 10,000 applying each year and 175 to 200 becoming the finalists. For your information, the scholarship program allows F-1 visa students to apply and can apply at the same time as financial aid.
